Stan Monroe has been practicing law in Oklahoma for more than thirty years. He was admitted to the Bar in 1978 after graduating from the University of Tulsa College of Law (J.D., with honors, 1978) and the University of Oklahoma (B.A., 1975).
Mr. Monroe became a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2010. This honor is only bestowed on the top 1% of practicing lawyers, with 15 years or more of experience, in each jurisdiction. Mr. Monroe was also named the 2011 Oklahoma Bar Association Criminal Defense Lawyer of the Year. He has been selected as an Oklahoma Super Lawyer years 2006 through 2014.
Mr. Monroe has achieved an A/V rating (the highest rating for legal ability by Martindale-Hubbell) and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers for Criminal Trial Practice. His primary practice areas include Federal and State Criminal Defense (White Collar Crime, Homicide, Drug and Sex Crimes, and DUI), Civil Litigation (Federal Civil Rights and Plaintiff’s Personal Injury), and Appellate Advocacy in Federal and State courts.
Mr. Monroe is admitted to practice law in the following jurisdictions: (1) United States Supreme Court; (2) U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit; (3) U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma; (4) U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma; and (5) State of Oklahoma.
Mr. Monroe is currently a member of the Oklahoma State and Tulsa County Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association, the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Monroe was President of the Tulsa Criminal Defense Lawyers Association in 1997.
